Meet Katonya Hughey! Katonya joined our Board of Directors in 2021 and currently serves as the Director of Operations at HEDCO. She’s passionate about family, community, and making a difference. Katonya is a proud author of The Kenzie Chronicles, a children’s book series—with two new books on the way! In her free time, she enjoys reading, writing, dancing, laughing, and spending time with loved ones. She’s also a dedicated member of BLAC—the Black Leaders and Administrators Consortium. When asked why she serves on our board, Katonya shared: “I serve on the board because I believe in our mission to strengthen community engagement and support people in need. Focusing on the food insecurities, health disparities, and housing issues faced by the residents of Hartford goes hand in hand with my belief to help foster change.
