Community gardens create spaces for families to feed themselves...and so much more! 🥬 They create abundance: “I met so many wonderful people while I was gardening...It was a joy to be able to share my harvest with my neighbors in Everett and Near South and with my friends and loved ones.” - Allie C. They are spaces of friendship and helping hands, such as when gardener John came back as a volunteer to ensure his former Gere Library Garden continued to thrive, helping neighbor Margaret with end of season clean up. They are also spaces to teach our children the value of growing their own food, where they can experiment with what they grow and learn family traditions. Gardens not only help our community members feed themselves, but create spaces for friendship, connection, education, and more!
