MEMORIAL DAY Middlebury. Middlebury showed up today—under beautiful skies and rising temperatures—to honor the heroes who gave their lives in service to our country, and those who are currently serving. With deep gratitude, we remember their sacrifice and celebrate the strength of our community. It’s always heartening to see so many friends, local organizations, and community partners marching together! We love seeing the Open Door Clinic alongside the Yellow House, prize worthy Oxen and Cart, our Middlebury EMS waving and smiling, the Franklin family with their beautiful vintage vehicles, the glistening red of local fire trucks and iconic green and yellow 1940’s John Deere tractors. The Festival on the Green Folk turned out with a GREAT crowd! Folk distributed everything from frisbees, candy, pencils and Mardi Gras beads! Thank you Middlebury Eye Associates for the early morning coffee and donuts, Otter Creek Bakery for opening early, and Holmes at Two Bros for the BEST POSITION GOLDEN CIRCLE seating! The Memorial Day Parade is always a highlight of late May in Middlebury—thank you to The American Legion Middlebury Post 27, and everyone who helps make it so special each year.
