With generous sponsorship support from North Shore MA NAACP, we are pleased to announce the launch of our new exhibit at the Hale House (39 Hale Street), "Frederick Douglass: Advocate for Equality". The exhibit is on loan from the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History and explores Douglass’s epic life from 1818 to 1895 and examines Douglass’s escape from slavery, his work as an abolitionist, and his relentless fight for equality for all individuals during the Jim Crow era. The exhibit is open 11:00am-3:00pm on the following days through June: Tuesday, May 27 - Saturday, May 31 Monday, June 2 - Sunday June 8 Then every Friday through June 20th Free with admission to the historic house (fb)
