The first Queer Science: Five Colleges event is April 26th at the Cole Science Center at Hampshire College 🌈 Queer Science offers hands-on demonstrations and mentorship from LGTBQ+ scientists to high school students interested in STEM. Well folks, the “migrations” part of the annual Big Migrations season is over. Our local migrating amphibians have reached their vernal pools to breed and lay eggs. Out on Henry Street, local volunteers spotted plenty of frogs and 100+ salamanders crossing the road (and many more traveled unseen!) at late hours on our first warm, rainy nights of spring. Thank you to Town of Amherst, MA for closing the roads, and to all the volunteers who maintained the Henry Street salamander tunnels, and helped amphibians in their crossing.
