Hancock County Habitat for Humanity | Maine | HCHH

Partnering with economically disadvantaged individuals & families and utilizing monetary & in-kind d Habitat for Humanity was founded based on the conviction that every man, woman & child should have a simple, durable place to live in dignity & safety. Worldwide, Habitat affiliates improve people’s housing conditions through new home construction, rehabilitation, repairs or increased access to improved shelter through partnerships with the private sector. Partnering with economically disadvantaged individuals & families, Hancock Co. Habitat seeks to eliminate poverty housing and to make decent, affordable shelter a matter of conscience & action. Through monetary & in-kind donations, volunteer labor, and each partner’s “sweat equity", we are able to complete projects which are then financed under 0-interest (0% APR) or zero-equivalent mortgage(s) and/or through third-party credit. Like Follow Us Apply for a Habitat Home in Hancock County Welcome to Hancock County Habitat for Humanity Honoring President Jimmy Carter We are deeply saddened by the news of President Carter39s passing. He was a genuine friend to Habitat for Humanity and an enduring symbol of selflessly helping others and communities to flourish. Jimmy Carter and his wife Rosalynn became enthusiastic advocates for Habitat for Humanity after their initial volunteer work in 1984 strongly aligning with the organization39s focus on constructing homes communities and hope. Over the years the Carters involvement has become symbolic of Habitats ethos of service with the couple dedicating weeks of their time each year to working alongside volunteers and future homeowners.
