A college-like program for young adults with ID/DD who are looking to expand their social, vocational, and life skills in a music-infused environment. Berkshire Hills Music Academy is a unique college-like program for young adults with intellectual and BHMA uses music to help individuals with intellectual disabilities develop skills for communication, independence, and employment.We do this by: *Integrating musical programming through a comprehensive curriculum that engages the entire brain. *Empowering students to advocate for themselves effectively though productive communication and interaction with peers. *Teaching pre-vocational and vocational skills within a community setting, with job-related support for successful employment. *Encouraging students to achieve increasing levels of independence through involvement in the local community. OUR VISION: BHMA strives to create a world in which all people with intellectual disabilities are encouraged to pursue their talents, enjoy a high quality of life, and find meaningful employment.
