🌱 Tree-Planting for a Greener Future in Chanyanya, Zambia Our Affiliate, MC-Zambia, in partnership with the Chanyanya community, on May 9th, launched a tree-planting initiative at their center, part of the UNDP-funded Climate Smart Agroecology Project. The initiative included the distribution of indigenous trees to local schools, churches, and public spaces, promoting both ecological sustainability and nutritional benefits for the community. Kaela Kambobe, MC-Zambia Country Manager, highlighted: “This launch is not just about planting trees; it's about taking responsibility today so that children, who are at the heart of MC-Zambia’s mission, inherit a greener and safer Zambia.” The initiative was welcomed by the community, enjoying the presence of Magoba Ward Councilor, local headmen, MC-Zambia Board representatives, school heads & religious leaders, beneficiaries, and community members. The Ward Councilor reminded attendees: “Climate change is no longer a distant issue; it’s here, now. We must act urgently to protect future generations. Initiatives like this are key to making a difference.” Together, we grow roots for a better tomorrow. #MCZambia (fb)

Ayeshwini Lama, a 27-year-old from Bhutan, a landlocked Kingdom in the Eastern Himalayas, first joined the MCW Global Fellowship as a Mentee in 2020. Having deeply enjoyed and learned from the experience, she returned as a Mentor twice, in 2021 and 2024. Over the years, she has connected with numerous people through the MCW Global network, each one having shaped her journey in some way. “Meeting individuals who carry so much passion for their communities and getting to learn about them and their work has been the most important for me on my journey with MCW Global. From my exchanges and experience with them, I have learnt that global change comes from a series of smaller changes, and no effort is inconsequential in the grand scheme. That is a valuable lesson I have learnt that helps me carry on.” Read more about this inspiring journey in our latest piece from the series "Transforming Communities for 25 Years: Looking Back, Moving Forward.":https://mcwglobal.org/a-path-of-growth-and-impact-ayeshwini-lamas-journey-with-mcw-global/ #MCWGlobal #25thAnniversary #TransformingCommunities (fb)
