This Yom Hashoah, join us for a free virtual discussion with Jody Savin, author of “Stitched & Sewn: The Life-saving Art of Holocaust Survivor Trudie Strobel,” and artist Trudie Strobel. As a child survivor of the Holocaust, Strobel found therapeutic release through art, using traditional Yemeni embroidery taught to her by her mother, a master seamstress. We’ll share some of her remarkable tapestries and reflect on the importance of honoring and preserving our stories. Thursday, April 24, 2025, at 4:30 pm ET. Register at the link below or at 646-616-9329. https://bit.ly/JBILibrarySAS (fb)

Recently, Yitzchok reached out to JBI Library to explain that while his grandfather had a deep desire to continue his studies, he needed large print text in a particular format: white letters on a black background. We were happy to create his accessible Talmud Sanhedrin."Tell them that they really saved me and it's an amazing job!" said Yitzchok’s grandfather, who has since received several free customized texts from JBI Library. We believe in going the extra mile for each and every one of our patrons. We're very grateful for the opportunity to help people engage with Judaism, and we're always here to help in any way we can. Is there something we can create for you or your loved one? Contact our librarians at library@jbilibrary or 212-545-8025. (fb)
