🎉 Get ready to take a delicious trip down memory lane, because Curious Histories Fest is BACK! On Saturday, June 14, the Science History Institute's free annual celebration of science, history, exploration, and experimentation returns for a third year! Curious Histories Fest highlights a new theme each year. Inspired by our current exhibition, Lunchtime: The History of Science on the School Food Tray, this year’s “What’s for Lunch?” theme explores the history of food science and efforts to feed children in U.S. schools. Join us for fun activities, craft making, engaging talks, live demos, and some free ice cream! Then explore our museum and see special collections showcasing surprising food histories. Enjoy FREE lunch samples from around the Philly region, special guests, live music, and so much more! 🎉 Curious Histories Fest has FREE fun for everyone! No reservation needed. Visit sciencehistory.org/fest or tap the link in bio to learn more! Major funding for Curious Histories Fest is provided by the Bolte Family Foundation, with additional support from the American Chemical Society, The Pew Center for Arts & Heritage, and Trinseo. (fb)

📣 Hey all you dudes and dudettes, get ready to travel back in time for First Friday: 80s Night! Whether you rocked the Jazzercise leotard or spent hours trying to solve the Rubik’s Cube, we’ve got something for everyone. 🕶️ Next Friday, May 2, come dressed in your best 80s attire—think leg warmers, scrunchies, and hairspray galore. Join in on the ultimate 80s scavenger hunt through our museum, then explore the science of vinyl records and VHS tapes with our educators. In addition to having one of those world famous 3-D puzzle cubes on display, other throwbacks include a Teddy Ruxpin mechanical toy and the Sony Walkman. This is the night to celebrate the vibrant, funky, and totally tubular decade we all know and love, and the surprising science behind it all! (fb)
