Bringing books, dogs and confidence to young readers throughout Chicago 🐾 SitStayRead advances children's literacy and builds confidence in young readers by using an engaging curriculum incorporating social-emotional learning, enriched by certified reading assistance dogs. We serve Chicago schools and community-based organizations where the student population is at least 90% low-income and 60% of third graders score below the national reading average. Through our partner schools, our dedicated volunteer Book Buddies and Dog Teams, and the generosity of donors and institutional funders, we inspire and equip the youth of Chicago to become enthusiastic, proficient readers early in their academic and personal journeys.

SitStayRead ANIMALASSISTED LITERACY PROGRAMS SitStayRead is a nonprofit organization that uses an engaging evidencebased curriculum skilled staff trained volunteers and Certified Reading Assistance Dogs to advance the literacy skills of kindergarten through thirdgrade students in the city of Chicago. We serve Chicago schools and communitybased organizations where 90 of students live in lowincome households or are housing insecure and 60 of third graders score below the national reading average. Through our partner schools and with the support of generous institutional and individual funders SitStayRead motivates young Chicago students to become enthusiastic proficient readers at a critical period in their learning journey and inspires them to create success in their lives. Programs SitStayRead provides yearround programming for K3 students in the city of Chicago.
