FILA was formed in 2004 as an allvolunteer nonprofit organization dedicated to the restoration and preservation of the history and structures. Another "winter project" ready to head out to the station courtesy of long-term volunteer Doug Noren. Doug replicated a missing drawer. All of the pantries in the Keeper's Quarters building are substantial, but the officer's quarters one is particularly nice with these built in drawers as well as shelves.

Fox Island Lighthouse Association
A photo of Frank M Bourissau, son of long-serving keeper Lewis Bourissau, brother of keepers Lewis & James Bourissau. He served both the "old" and "new" lights at South Fox from 1924 through 1937. He went on to serve at Ludington's North Breakwater Light, Milwaukee's North Breakwater Light and Chicago Harbor before being promoted to Muskegon's South Pierhead light as head keeper in 1948.
