Northampton County Youth Field Day Foundation

The Northampton County Youth Field Day Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting and funding educational programs in outdoor sports and conservation for children.

Mission and Activities

The foundation's mission focuses on enhancing the lives of young individuals by providing them with engaging and educational experiences in outdoor sports. This is primarily achieved through the organization of their annual event, the Northampton County Youth Field Day, where children aged between 7 and 15 participate in various outdoor activities under the guidance of volunteers from local sportsmen's associations. The event includes complementary lunch and a participation gift for attendees, fostering a supportive and fun learning environment.

Beyond hosting their own events, the foundation supports similar programs run by other organizations to ensure a broader impact on youth education in outdoor sports and conservation.

Programs and Events

  • Northampton County Youth Field Day: This annual event is the foundation's primary activity, designed to educate and engage children in outdoor sports while emphasizing the importance of conservation. The event is open to the public at no cost, promoting community involvement and inclusivity.

  • Whitetail Deer Classic Banquet: In collaboration with the Northampton County Junior Conservation School and Northampton County Federation of Sportsmen’s Clubs, the foundation co-hosts this banquet as a major fundraising event. The proceeds support youth programs in outdoor sports and conservation.

Grants and Financials

The foundation has provided grants to organizations such as the Northampton County Junior Conservation School and the Northampton County Federation of Sportsmen’s Clubs. Financially, it generates revenue primarily from fundraising events and gaming activities. In recent years, the foundation has reported significant net income from these activities, which are used to support both their own programs and those of partner organizations.

Leadership

As of recent data, Richard Tobias serves as the President of the Northampton County Youth Field Day Foundation. Other key roles include Carolyn Brior as Treasurer, Cheryl Shafer as Secretary, and Robert Reimer as Vice President. All leadership roles are compensated at no cost, reflecting the organization's commitment to its charitable objectives.

The Northampton County Youth Field Day Foundation contributes significantly to fostering a love for outdoor sports and conservation among young people, thus playing a vital role in shaping the next generation of conservationists and outdoor enthusiasts.
