St. John's Lutheran Church

We are a people of God: called through Holy Baptism and made God's children. By water and God's Word we are made brothers and sisters of Our Lord, Jesus Christ, and of one another. We, therefore, belong to a community of faith which worships, proclaims and serves. We are gathered by God's Holy Spirit to celebrate God's love for all people in our worship. God's love comes to us through the Word of Holy Scripture. The risen Christ is really present in the bread and wine of Holy Communion. As we gather around God's gifts of Word and Sacraments, we are strengthened for proclamation and service. We are privileged and entitled as God's children to proclaim God's love in our teaching and preaching. This love is revealed in the life, death, resurrection and promise to come again of God's Son, our Lord Jesus Christ. We proclaim with our lips what we believe in our hearts to one another and our children. We extend to all Christ's invitation of belonging to God and our community of faith. We are gifted and empowered to serve one another and those in need. In our daily life and work we strive to share God's love in word and deed. We also visit the sick, feed the hungry, clothe the naked, shelter the homeless, care for the elderly, and comfort the dying and those who grieve. God uses us as hands and feet and voices. We earnestly pray that God will make and keep us faithful to our calling.
