It aims to perform at the highest possible level of expressive intensity, in order to entertain, move, uplift and transform its audiences. Combining a commitment to vivid live performances with the study of original source materials and historical performance practices, the group ranges over a wide and fascinating repertoire, and aspires to a deeply informed understanding of the past. Blue Heron offers performances on its own Cambridge-based series and on touring engagements, as well as top-quality recordings, and educational programs (e.g. workshops), including residencies at local universities.
