One of the Presumpscot Rivers historic and keystone species, Blueback Herring, have been returned to the River. As an advocacy organization FOPR has sought the restoration of the rivers fishery. Today, 1133 sea-run Blueback herring have been reintroduced into the river. We offer much appreciation for the support and good works of the Maine Department of Marine Resources. Without them this would not have been possible. It is a historic day that is another major step toward a healthier thriving River. Thank you to everyone that help make this possible. (fb)
