Mercy Care for the Adirondacks, sponsored by the Sisters of Mercy, was established in 2007 as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Its mission is to enhance in every dimension the fullness of life of Elders living in their community. To enhance the fullness of life of elders living in their Adirondack communities. Mission is carried out through three interrelated strategies: 1) Direct service of informal supports provided by Friendship Volunteers and Volunteer Parish Nurses 2) Empowering elders to age in place more successfully and empowering our communities to become more age-friendly 3) Through education Mercy Care seeks to promote an understanding of issues and challenges in the lives of elders and of the impact on elders of the policies and practices of communities, the state and the nation.
