🌟 Meet Monica Vance, our compassionate Specialty Behavioral Health Provider at FHCW! 🌟 Monica is a key member of our Behavioral Health Services team, where she offers empathy, expertise, and unwavering support to every patient. Her day involves therapy sessions, collaborating with providers, and connecting with colleagues to ensure holistic care. Monica’s journey at FHCW began in 2016 as a Master of Social Work intern. After gaining experience in community mental health, she returned to FHCW in April 2022 as a full-time provider. Born and raised in Worcester, Monica is deeply connected to the community she serves. The most rewarding part of Monica’s role is the privilege of hearing her patients’ stories of survival. "I meet many patients who experience isolation or distrust in others, and it’s always courageous when they share their thoughts and feelings with me," she says. Monica’s proudest moment at FHCW was speaking at the Healthy Ever After fundraiser. "It allowed me to express myself through storytelling and public speaking, and to honor my parents and the FHCW community," she reflects. Outside of work, Monica enjoys writing, performing poetry, attending live music events, and connecting with nature. Her creative spirit extends to her work, often using expressive arts in therapy sessions. Monica also loves the Worcester Art Museum, Green Hill Park, and the Sole Proprietor for its delicious food and great atmosphere. Monica is passionate about supporting faith, spirituality, and creativity. "Creativity fuels me to dream and reconnect with a sense of wonder," she shares. Monica believes in empowering others to tap into their creative energy for healing and self-expression.
