Every time I open my email, it’s loaded with shelter lists of dogs scheduled for euthanasia. They range from tiny little dogs to large breeds—shepherds, huskies, mixes, and Staffordshire/pit bulls. My heart breaks every single day. The state of humanity is reflected in how we treat animals. Things have to change. So many people are emotionally struggling, especially in today’s challenging times. And so many bad people are taking advantage—scamming others out of their hard-earned money. I pray every day... Many of you may remember that I hired a PR team, and we did a lot of press on behalf of the animals. In November, my rescued Pyrenees dog Bob and I appeared on KTLA in one of the last interviews with Sam Rubin. I begged for help— the money is at UC Davis for the shelters and rescues. Mayor Karen Bass just announced budget cuts that could be devastating for L.A.’s already overcrowded shelters.
