Spout Press publishes and promotes the finest in contemporary experimental writing — mentoring young writers and bringing new and/or under-appreciated voices to the attention of a larger audience. This is accomplished through the publishing of books and the production of live events within the community. Both strive to combine artistic genres to facilitate dialogue between the film, music, visual art, and literary communities creating synergy that expands possibilities for both artists and audiences.

Spout Press serving weird writers since 1989 Menu Menu Home New Distribution with Asterism Books We are delighted to announce that Spout Press titles will now be distributed by Asterism Books. We are encouraged by Asterisms indie press and bookstore friendly model and are extremely grateful for their generosity as they take in presses like ours effected by Small Press Distributions sudden closure in March. Hundreds of presses were suddenly left without distribution highlighting the need for significant change in small press publishing infrastructure. In Asterism we see a path forward not just for Spout Press but the indie publishing ecosystem at large.
