The Zamir Choral Foundation, founded by Matthew Lazar, is the premier US Jewish choral organization The Zamir Choral Foundation promotes excellence in Jewish choral music, and engages teens and adults in Jewish choral singing in order to inspire Jewish life, culture, leadership, and the strengthening of Jewish community. The foundation is the nucleus of a growing Jewish choral network, sponsoring programs, concerts, workshops, music festivals, and a host of other activities aimed at expanding the knowledge of and appreciation for Jewish choral music. The Zamir Choral Foundation activities directly engage hundreds of teens and adults on an ongoing basis through its programs and ultimately impact many thousands of individuals and families, creating connections between Jews of different religious denominations, cultural backgrounds, ages and socioeconomic strata, attracting many who are not otherwise involved in Jewish life.
