History In 1907 a mens group associated with the Swedenborgian Society in Boston established the Neighborhood House in Lynn Massachusetts to provide health and welfare programs as well as services for the immigrant population in the shoe industry. The mission of the founding director Grace Gregg was to help families help themselves. Grace is credited with establishing Lynns first kindergarten public playground wellbaby clinic dental dispensary and lending library.
