Many teens seek meaningful activities in their lives. At the same time, most communities in America are home to poor people, including working poor families, elderly and disabled citizens living on limited incomes,jobless and homeless persons. Teens Opposing Poverty (TOP)seeks to bring the energy and compassion of young people to problem of poverty. TOP trains teens to provide material needs ranging from food, clothing and toiletries to home repair. An additional emphasis is placed on developing relationships and interactions between teens and the poor people they serve. Through these relationships, teens can provide prayer,a Christian witness,encouragement and learn of deeper needs that, when met, can improve the lives of the poor.
