The National School Climate Center (NSCC) is a nationally-recognized nonprofit that works with schools to measure & improve school climate. Our goal is to promote positive and sustained school climate: a safe, supportive environment that nurtures social and emotional, ethical, and academic skills. In every classroom across America, there are students struggling with social and emotional issues such as depression and bullying, these children go to school feeling disengaged from the learning process and distracted from gaining the basic skills they need to succeed beyond high school. The National School Climate Center (NSCC) was founded to help schools promote a safe, supportive and engaging learning environment to help our kids succeed in school and life. Our mission is to narrow the gap between what we have learned, through research about how to raise socially and emotionally healthy, productive children. Tragically, most schools today focus narrowly on reading, math and science scores: social, emotional, and civic education are either ignored or handled ineffectively.
