Professional networking What a powerful way to end the week! I had the privilege of sharing space with incredible thought leaders at Siembra Today, with its founder - Erica Priscilla Sandoval, LCSW, AWA, and fellow contributing co-authors of LatinX/ e in Social Work. The topic of this year’s Annual Planting the Seeds of Hope Summit—“Building Bridges and Breaking Barriers”—was so timely and meaningful. The keynote speaker and vol. iii contributing author- Cristina Contreras, MPA, LMSW, FABC was inspiring. I truly enjoyed moderating my panel, and I’m grateful for all the insights gained by the participants. A special shoutout to the Social Work students who drove this event—they are the ones making such a lasting impact in the field, and their dedication is inspiring. Today is the last day of National Social a work. What a great Segway to close out the month with Dr. Victor G. Alicea who obtained his social work degree in 1966 from Columbia University. Dr. Victor G. Alicea, is the President of Boricua College. I was impressed by his knowledge of the college. Dr. Alicea is a co-founder of this academic institution, an educator, and an advocate. What a remarkable history to appreciate, and he is from my hometown of Ponce. I truly appreciate his work and dedication to advancing higher education in our community.
