April is Testicular Cancer Awareness Month! Testicular cancer most often develops in young and middle-aged men and is the most common form of cancer in 20- to 35-year-old men. It is a highly treatable and often curable form of cancer, according to the National Cancer Institute (NCI). Testicular Cancer Awareness Month is observed annually in April to encourage men between the ages of 20 to 35 to get tested. Many factors can affect a man’s risk of testicular cancer including health history, having had abnormal development, having a family history of testicular cancer (especially in a father or brother). The NCI’s Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) Program estimates that in 2024, 9,760 men in the United States were diagnosed with testicular cancer. Testicular cancer remains one of the most treatable cancer types, with over 95% of those diagnosed surviving five years. (fb)

Nobody Fights Alone Friday🥰 Alexander is a 39 year old man from Stamford diagnosed with testicular cancer in October of 2022 and is currently in treatment for a recurrence of the disease. In addition to his cancer, Alexander has a learning disability and is on the Autism Spectrum. He lives with his elderly mother, who is his caretaker, and his medical support dog. Though Alexander is actively employed in a specialty retail store, he is struggling to keep up with his household expenses. His on-going treatment causes him to miss work and the reduction of income along with increased medical costs have caused severe financial issues. He and his mother lost their home to foreclosure last year and have since had to move into a smaller, but more expensive, apartment. Alexander and his Social Worker reached out to CCF for assistance with his rent, utilities, food, and some medical expenses . He was given a grant to cover his rent deficit and to put food on his table. This is where your donations to CCF go. Please consider making a contribution to CCF today to help make sure that people like Alexander have a roof over their head and food to eat while battling cancer by visiting https://bit.ly/2Y48jyT (fb)
