Congratulations to SSC saxophone student Jack Murphy who was awarded the best Junior High School Blues/Rock/Pop Soloist by Downbeat magazine. His band, The Derby Dynasty, was awarded best Junior High School Blues/Rock/Pop Group. The winners are listed in the June issue of Downbeat. Jack, who attends Derby Academy, is a student of SSC teaching artist Ryan McNeice.
