Did you know that the idea to create the exhibition "Everybody's Bolos" came from the co-curators researching the bolo tie, and discovering so few publications on it. The exhibition catalogue, available for sale in The Shop at Fuller Craft, helps fill that void in research. Pick up your copy and visit "Everybody's Bolos" and more at Fuller Craft Museum (fb)

Look closely at "Spotted Taildropper," by Carly Feddersen, now on view in the exhibition "Everybody's Bolos." "Working with stones collected near her home in Central Washington, Okanogan + Arrow Lakes artist Carly Feddersen follows a long tradition of Columbia Plateau stone carving. Shrouded in sterling silver, Spotted Taildropper is carved from dark gray speckled basalt and calls into question the perceived value of precious stones in jewelry. Is it what they are or what we do with them that gives them worth? When activated by the body, Spotted Taildropper slides along a lariat and nestles adoringly under the wearer’s chin gaining prestige in the act of being worn. Feddersen’s work is full of humor, metaphor, and an imaginative way of looking at the world. She holds a BFA from the Institute of American Indian Arts in Santa Fe, NM."
