Our campus has been filled with energy as we welcomed our admitted students and future Red Wings to campus for our second Revisit Day yesterday! If you haven’t had the chance to visit our beautiful campus and shadow a current student, there is one more Revisit Day on Monday. 🔬🪰 In Sequoyah Reynoso’s senior-level Honors Research seminar, students are maintaining a fruit fly colony for genetic research as part of Stanford’s Stan-X program. The students in the course are creating new strains of transgenic fruit flies–using a non-autonomous transposon called SX4–that will be stored and used in collaboration with scientists across the country. Using the resources of The Revers Center and the expertise of external experts, students are able to conduct college- or graduate-level research that can have an impact on medical treatments in humans.
