Dorcas Place incorporated in 1981 as a non-profit adult literacy and learning center.The Dorcas Place mission is to assist low-income adults in realizing their full potential through literacy, employment, advocacy and community involvement. As a community partner, we seek to contribute to Rhode Island's economic growth through the development of a more educated and productive workforce. In carrying out this mission we embrace these values: advocacy, collaboration, community, family, empowerment, compassion, diversity, hospitality, life-long learning, respect and responsibility.
