VT Association of Snow Travelers VAST is a non-profit, private group that includes 131 clubs statewide, with over 35,000 members combined. THE VERMONT ASSOCIATION OF SNOW TRAVELERS, INC. (VAST) IS A VERMONT BASED NOT-FOR-PROFIT CORPORATION FOUNDED IN 1967. THE PURPOSE OF VAST IS TO COORDINATE THE DEVELOPMENT, MAINTENANCE, AND MANAGEMENT OF VERMONT'S STATEWIDE SNOWMOBILE TRAILS SYSTEM (SSTS) AS WELL AS TO RENOVATE, MANAGE, AND MAINTAIN THE 93-MILE LAMOILLE VALLEY RAIL TRAIL, NEW ENGLAND'S LONGEST RAIL TRAIL, AS AN ALL-SEASON RECREATIONAL TRAIL.
