(VAST) IS A VERMONT BASED NOT-FOR-PROFIT CORPORATION FOUNDED IN 1967. THE PURPOSE OF VAST IS TO COORDINATE THE DEVELOPMENT, MAINTENANCE, AND MANAGEMENT OF VERMONT'S STATEWIDE SNOWMOBILE TRAILS SYSTEM (SSTS) AS WELL AS TO RENOVATE, MANAGE, AND MAINTAIN THE 93-MILE LAMOILLE VALLEY RAIL TRAIL, NEW ENGLAND'S LONGEST RAIL TRAIL, AS AN ALL-SEASON RECREATIONAL TRAIL.
