Four hospitals within the Brown University Health system received an ‘A’ Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group, a national nonprofit upholding the standard of patient safety in hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers. The four hospitals gaining this distinction in patient safety are Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, RI, The Miriam Hospital in Providence, RI, Newport Hospital in Newport, RI, and Saint Anne's Hospital in Fall River, MA. This national distinction recognizes hospitals for their commitment to patient safety and excellence in protecting patients from preventable harm and medical errors. Saint Anne’s Hospital, The Miriam Hospital, and Newport Hospital have each consistently demonstrated high performance in safety, earning top marks in multiple grading cycles from the Leapfrog Group.
