Meet Mr. Howard Somberg, Rothco Chairman of the Board “‘The quality of a leader is the standards they set for themselves.’ I have had the honor of working with my dad for 45 years. He taught me many things in that time: to work hard, to communicate, and to lead by example. He would give me responsibility and let me learn by my mistakes. The most important thing that he taught me was to care about the loyal employees that have worked for Rothco and help create the company that we are today.” – Howard Somberg, Chairman of the Board For several decades under Howard's leadership, Rothco grew as the brand you know and love today. Taking inspiration from its military roots and heritage, Rothco expanded its collection of military, tactical, work, and outdoor clothing and gear. And even as time goes on, Rothco remains a family owned and operated company, where Howard's son-in-law, Dennis Hopper, is currently COO, and other members of the family play active roles within the organization. For many years now, Rothco has been a proud supporter and invaluable community partner of LI Against Domestic Violence. Through their spirit of partnership and philanthropy, Rothco has ensured that hundreds of survivors are provided with the critical safety related services they require during a time of crisis.
