Started in 1983 by Quakers, YSOP uses high school and college students as volunteers to help meet the needs of homeless and hungry people in New York City and Washington, DC. Through YSOP's Workcamp program, we help schools and religious groups engage young people in service. By having participants interact with the city's needy people, they will see the impact of their work and continue to participate in service activities.

Many hands make beautiful work. Here's our project last week at the Quaker New York Yearly Meeting held at Oakwood Friends School in Poughkeepsie NY. Quakers from NY, Northern NJ and Fairfield County in CT held a week of business and social sessions as part of the Quaker annual meeting.
