Friends is the 501(c)(3) nonprofit fundraising partner of the Fairfax County Animal Shelter. The Friends of the Fairfax County Animal Shelter (Friends) is an all-volunteer organization which was founded in 2006 to support the Fairfax County Animal Shelter and to help improve the quality of life of companion animals in our community. By supporting Friends of the Fairfax County Animal Shelter, you allow us to provide funding for lifesaving medical care, dental care, parasite prevention and more for the Shelter pets in need. Programs such as these promote the adoption of homeless dogs, cats, birds, small mammals and reptiles in Fairfax County. Your support also allows us to fund other important programs such as the TNR Program for community cats, which provides spay and neuter surgeries for free-roaming cats in Fairfax County.
