Founded in 1900 by M. Jennie Kendall, NH Humane has gradually evolved into the organization it is today - assuring each animal exceptional care and comfort, gentle behavioral support and excellent medical treatment. We are a private, nonprofit animal welfare organization serving the people and animals in our community and we rely 100% on donations from the public. Mission • To find responsible and caring forever homes for lost, abandoned and unwanted animals; • To be a community partner to help care for animals and to keep them in their forever homes; • To implement educational programs and provide services to promote responsible pet ownership and the bond between animals and humans; • To prevent overpopulation and cruelty to animals.

The land was being sought by a developer which would have limited future expansion opportunities. New Hampshire Humane is relied upon by 17 municipalities as well as hundreds of animals each year. The loss of the property would have made expansion of services impossible.
