The doctor’s office can be an intimidating place, but regular visits are crucial for maintaining good health. At CLC, ensuring our learners are comfortable and confident during these visits is a top priority. We’re excited to highlight Noah’s incredible journey toward mastering doctor’s exams! Noah has been working hard to become more comfortable with various aspects of doctor’s visits. Through structured practice in our simulated doctor’s office, Noah has been able to practice laying on an exam table, getting his ears checked, and other essential components of a visit. Staff gradually introduce these tasks and use a token system to shape his successful participation. Noah is very familiar with his token system and easily tracks his progress until the “visit” is complete and he moves on to something more fun—time on his iPad . This routine not only helps Noah become more comfortable with doctor’s visits but also reduces the stress and anxiety often associated with medical appointments. Positive experiences like these are helping Noah build trust with healthcare providers and prepare for future visits with greater ease and confidence. Noah has worked incredibly hard this past year, showing incredible resilience. The growth he has made, especially in accepting doctor and dental exams, is a testament to his dedication, and we are incredibly proud of him. Keep up the great work, Noah! (fb)

Meet Meghan, a dedicated instructor at CLC from Hatboro, PA. Meghan earned her bachelor’s degree from Temple University Ambler, studying psychology to better understand herself and fulfill her desire to help others. She’s been with CLC for almost two years, starting as a trainee in Module B and now an instructor. Outside of work, Meghan enjoys spending time with family and friends, relaxing in Ocean City, NJ, walking her dog, Hoagie, listening to music, or watching a Netflix series. She lives by the quote, "Either you run the day or the day runs you," which reminds her to make the most out of each day and seize every opportunity. For Meghan, the most rewarding part of her job is seeing learners grow in their independence, particularly in self-care skills. "I love helping students become independent—whether it's accepting getting their hair done or completing a shower routine. For example, one of our female learners struggled with accepting her hair being styled. After collaborating with her parents and using a visual system, we saw great success as she confidently chose different styles!" A ‘good day’ for her is filled with smiles, laughter, and strong relationships, as she believes building rapport creates a supportive learning environment. Meghan is inspired by “the dedication and support from the families at CLC,” and she finds the most fulfillment in the constant opportunity to learn and adapt. “CLC’s supportive environment challenges me to find the best ways to help our learners progress,” she says. This ongoing growth, paired with her strong connections to both learners and their families, keeps her motivated and passionate about her work. Meghan’s adaptability and strong connections make her an exceptional instructor who always goes above and beyond #ABA #AutismAcceptanceMonth #SpecialEducation #ASD #CLC (fb)
