The department is saddened to announce the passing of life member, past chief, and past fire commissioner, George Gilbert. George served the department for many decades, starting in the 1970's. Prior to moving to Millstone Township, George was a member of the Scottsville Virginia Fire Department. George served as Fire Chief in 1988 and 1989. A viewing for Past Chief Gilbert will be held, this Friday, June 6th, from 2-4 and 6-8, with firefighters services being held at 7 pm, at the Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold Borough. The funeral will occur on Saturday June 7th at 11:00 at the Millstone Presbyterian Church, 211 Millstone Road. Rest in peace George. (fb)
The department is proud of FF/EMT Craig Lewis who performed life saving measures off duty. In the emergency services, members find they are never truly "off-duty". (fb)
