The BCGS is excited to announce the 2025 Frank A. Wallace Memorial Fellowship recipient, Daniel Villela-Murray!! As part of receiving the Fellowship, Daniel will be giving three performances for the BCGS community in the 2025-2026 season. This will include an opening performance for the first concert of the 25-26 Artists Series in September! Please congratulate Daniel in the comments, and below is more information on Daniel! Daniel Villela is a performing classical guitarist and student at The University of Rhode Island, pursuing an undergraduate degree in classical guitar performance and Mandarin Chinese. Daniel has performed recitals in and around Boston, Mexico City, and Rhode Island, collaborating and performing with notable artists such as Marisa de Lille (soprano) and Barbara Cerón (harp). Daniel was a recent winner of the 2024 URI Concerto Competition, and will perform as a soloist alongside the URI Symphony Orchestra. Daniel is currently working with composers on a project to commission new music from the Middle East. (fb)
