Freckles Friends Pet Shelter, Inc.
Our mission is to raise funds to build a no-kill pet shelter, promote spay/neuter and the humane treatment of animals. Our long-range goal is to provide a no-kill shelter for homeless pets in DeKalb County and surrounding rural areas with no shelter access. Pets will be spayed or neutered, receive veterinary care, be socialized daily and ensured a safe and nurturing environment until a suitable permanent home is found. In the meantime, we promote humane values and provide spay/neuter assistance vouchers to help pet owners and rescuers in financial need. We have no paid staff and rely on our dedicated volunteers to run each of our programs. It is our hope and pledge that through aggressive marketing of spay/neuter programs and through building public awareness of the growing problem of pet over-population in our area, that we will be able to drastically reduce the number of unwanted pets so that no adoptable pet should have to be destroyed.
