“Vanuatu is a country where we cannot escape disasters, especially natural disasters.” On 17 December 2024, a 7.3 magnitude earthquake rocked the capital city of Port Vila and the surrounding islands, leaving 14 dead, at least 265 injured, and thousands displaced, jobless, and traumatised. The scale was unlike anything the Christian-majority nation had experienced before. Christians like Tom, Leisaria and Fred have clung to their faith as they work to rebuild their communities. Barnabas Aid New Zealand was privileged to join local partners this April to send more than 1,000 food.gives boxes for the Pacific nation’s recovery. (fb)

Another successful time attending @balmoralshow - here are a few snaps with the team for you to enjoy. We were truly encouraged by the amazing number of attendees who stopped by our stand to chat with the team about our @food.gives initiative. To help highlight the impact of the work we do at food.gives, We handed out free lentil dal samples to visitors. The purpose of these samples was to create a connection to the reality our brothers and sisters in need face daily, as this is often the type of meal that sustains them during difficult times. Many people enjoyed the dal, while others found it thought-provoking as it served as a powerful reminder of the challenges faced by suffering Christians and the critical support they require. A huge thank you to all our supporters and new supporters for stopping by. It was wonderful to see you all and hear how the lentil dal impacted you. (fb)
