About NAHAC Empower NAHAC developed the first Code of Ethics and Best Practices for the profession of Health Care Advocacy in 2011. In 2022 a Revised Code of Ethics for Patient and Health Care Advocates was written in conjunction with the Patient Advocates Certification Board and HealthAdvocateX. NAHAC members must commit to following this Code of Ethics protecting the interests of patients and their families.
