Hubbard Free Library is the oldest library building in Maine still serving its original function (1880). Built to look like an English country church, it's one of Hallowell's architectural gems, and a center of activity for the community. The Hubbard Free Library will continue to provide an excellent source of reading materials including books magazines audio and visual media as well as the very popular children's story time program children's summer reading program and appreciated events for all ages including lectures live music and adult reading groups.
