Scholastic Institute Chokyi Gyaltsen ( SICGU) was established in 1997 to facilitate the growing interest in traditional Tibetan philosophy and culture in the West. Our goal is to provide our communities with accurate and authentic information on Tibetan Buddhist philosophy, traditional Tibetan medicine and classical Tibetan art. Additionally, through the use of technology and publication, we are able to offer similar services to the national and international community. The goal of SICGU is to develop a University that will not only supply outstanding teachers in this tradition but also provide extensive resources focused on the idea that through research comes knowledge, from knowledge comes practice and from practice comes realizations.
