We’re saluting Luke Sopet, the latest recipient of our GEM Award for Going the Extra Mile! He was nominated by his colleagues for his extra efforts and “priceless” attitude. Luke is one of our Computer Network Technicians and comes to work with great care every day. Whether it’s helping a coworker fix their workstation, using his caution to protect us from bad actors or planning ahead for the betterment of the company, Luke has our best interests in mind. For example, when an instant card printer was having issues, he took it upon himself to learn the entire system and its maintenance. This was outside his job scope, but he felt it was imperative for the machines to function at their peak for members and staff. Upon further review, he was able to update all the firmware on the machines company-wide and improve their cleaning function. This ultimately improved the machines’ uptime without cleaning by a wide margin. Initiative at its finest!
