May 31, 2025: a confirmed orca sighting at the @waterfrontparkseattle Meet Me At The Waterfront Park 5K today in downtown Seattle. It was a very exciting event to celebrate the opening of the new Seattle Waterfront Park. Spout chased her salmon all the way to the finish line at a blistering pace of nearly 6 miles per hour (on par with the cruising speed of your typical killer whale in the ocean, which tends to be between 3 and 8 miles per hour).
