Created in 1993 The Woodhaven Business Improvement District (BID) was created Woodhaven property owners, business investors, and community leaders in order to expand,& actively encourage full retail and commercial development of Woodhaven's Jamaica Avenue TO PROMOTE THE ECONOMIC GROWTH AND WELL BEING OF THE PEOPLE AND BUSINESSES IN THE WOODHAVEN AREA ALONG WITH PEOPLE VISITING THE NEIGHBORHOOD BY PROVIDING SUPPLEMENTAL SERVICES TO THE COMMUNITY. THESE SERVICES INCLUDE SANITATION, SECURITY, HOLIDAY LIGHTS/DECORATIONS, GRAFFITI REMOVAL, BEAUTIFICATION PROJECTS, AND OTHER SERVICES AND ACTIVITIES WHICH FOSTER SAFETY, CRIME REDUCTION, IMPROVED TRAFFIC FLOW AND CLEANLINESS TO CREATE A WELCOMING ENVIRONMENT FOR RESIDENTS, BUSINESSES, SHOPPERS AND VISITORS.

Our organization helps make Jamaica Avenue from Dexter Court to 100th Street in Woodhaven a good place to shop live and do business. We sponsor lively programs and events.
