🇮🇱 Day 1 in Israel – Young Women’s Leadership Mission 💫 We’re so excited to kick off our Young Women’s Leadership Mission — a journey focused on identity, service, and leadership in the heart of Israel. Over the next week, participants will engage with local voices, give back through hands-on projects, and deepen their understanding of this dynamic region. A recap of the first day in Israel from participant Alyssa: After getting to our apartments after 4 AM local time, we took the morning to rest and freshen up before orientation and a walk along the beach to Jaffa. There, we had some time to eat and shop — some of us went to the famous Dr. Shakshuka. From there, we learned more about the region’s geopolitical state from Idan Lahav, a local Middle East researcher, before a delicious group dinner at Florentina. One member of our group even celebrated her birthday! 🎉 We’re now resting for the evening before our first volunteer project. Along the way, we saw many signs and graffiti art reminding us of the ongoing war and the need to bring the hostages home.
