Friars of the Sick Poor of Los Angeles Friars of the Sick Poor of Los Angeles Our mission is to give ourselves to God in the service of the sickpoor and marginalized whom we receive in Gods name. Christ and the Gospel are the Rule and way of life for the friars. The sickpoor and marginalized mirror to the friars the image of Christ. Likewise the friars are to mirror those whom they minister to the compassionate face of Jesus the Christ as found in the Gospels of Mathew Mark Luke and John Our Charism is to assist the sickpoor and marginalized to find meaning in their suffering and sickness as being redemptive inviting them to a fuller life within the church a life that life is filled with hope.
