The 1833 Greek Revival style mansion housed 4 generations of Forbes family members. See treasures fr Inspired by the Forbes family legacy, the Forbes House Museum fosters action and dialogue around civic engagement and cultural enrichment. The collection itself provides visitors with insights into the tastes and the professional and personal pursuits of four generations of Forbes family members, who made their early fortune through the China trade of the 1800s. The Forbeses also made significant contributions to their local, national and global communities. Through tours, events, programs and exhibits, the museum draws on that long history to enhance the educational, civic and social life of the community.
